Professional Profile
Stacey Gilman joined Berkowitz Oliver in 2003, specializing in intellectual property, professional liability, securities and other complex commercial litigation. Ms. Gilman has handled numerous complex and high profile disputes, including trademark, copyright, patent, advertising, right of publicity, fraud, contract, tort and class action matters. She has successfully represented clients in a variety of venues, including state, federal, international, administrative, regulatory and private proceedings, and has obtained favorable awards, judgments and settlements for clients in her representation of both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition to her other matters, as a member of the firm’s Securities Group, Ms. Gilman represents broker dealers, clearing firms, financial advisors and others in cases involving customer claims, intra-industry disputes and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining Berkowitz Oliver, Ms. Gilman was a member of the Litigation Department of Latham & Watkins, in its Los Angeles office. Between college and law school, Ms. Gilman worked as a journalist, serving as the Assistant Editor for the opinion and editorial sections of the Manhattan Mercury.
Ms. Gilman has authored publications regarding intellectual property and the Freedom of Information Act, and has provided continuing legal education guidance to other attorneys as an invited speaker for the Missouri Bar.
